About Our School
Who We Are
Mountain View is located on the western edge of the Adams 12 Five Star District in Broomfield, Colorado. It is a large elementary school of 600 students. The school is unique because it houses a center-based Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) program for preschool through fifth graders. The D/HH program serves students in Adams County and part of Broomfield County. The D/HH program adds an additional 60+ special needs students to our school each year. Although some of these students are in self-contained classrooms for instructional support matched directly to their unique needs, many of our D/HH students are mainstreamed into traditional classrooms with sign language interpreters to support them.
In addition to the students in our D/HH program, 12% of our student population qualify as English Language Learners (ELL). Approximately 11% of our students are identified as Gifted and Talented (G/T), one of the largest percentages of any traditional elementary school in the district.
We are proud to have earned the Colorado Department of Education's Accreditation with Distincition Award in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. Additionally, we also earned the Governor's Improvement Award in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. Our teachers have won various awards and grants, such as the Adams 12 Innovation Grant Award (three years in a row!) and the Jared Polis Technology Grant Award for 2017-2018.
