Mrs. Cascini's Class
Welcome to my class page!! My students are in the self-contained classroom for a majority of the day. In the classroom, we may have students that vary in age/grade level from kindergarten to fifth grade. We work on academic skills (reading, writing, math, language, grammar, etc), self-advocacy skills related to their hearing loss, and social/emotional skills. In our classroom, we love to learn through hard work and play. We work with other specialists such as SLP's (Speech Language Pathologists), OT/PT (Occupational and Physical Therapists), and our Mental Health Provider for social/emotional skills. All students go to lunch, recess, and specials (art, music, and gym) with their hearing peers and some may also go for various academic subjects. I take care to assess students' strengths and needs in order to fully support them on an individual basis. I spend a lot of time getting to know each student's likes, dislikes, learning styles, and goals. I have high expectations for students to do their best work at their individual levels. Each student is different and should be taught at their own level, not compared to others.
