Special Education

In Ms. Nagy's and Mrs. Russell's mild/moderate special education classroom you will find students working diligently to develop their math and literacy skills, according to their individual education needs. We work in small groups supporting academic advancement. We use the Number Worlds Math Intervention curriculum which has a strong grounding in the development of number sense and math communication skills. Students are learning to explain and defend their mathematical thinking to others. Many groups of students meet to strengthen literacy skills as well. Some students are focusing on letter-sound associations while others are focusing their efforts on fluency and reading comprehension skills. Our classroom is a comfortable space where students are able to build their academic confidence and skills through a multi-sensory teaching approach. Please feel free to contact the school for additional information.
