Multilingual Learners

world flags hanging from strings

The number of multilingual learners in schools is growing rapidly. In English Language Development, your student will spend 45 minutes daily receiving English instruction to prepare them for the academic classroom. Our units of study focus on a variety of engaging topics that promote language development. These units are aligned with the WIDA 2020 standards, a guideline for schools and district English language curriculums. Every winter, your student will participate in the WIDA ACCESS test to assess their proficiency in the English language. Please communicate with your student's ELD teacher for information about the ACCESS test.

We work to create classrooms that accept and celebrate students of all religions, races, ethnicities, and life experiences. Collaboration with parents and families is key for multilingual student success, so we are here to advocate for you and your rights as a parent. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns.
