First Grade

Welcome to first grade! We are very excited to work with you and your child this year. You will find first grade to be full of growth, both emotionally and developmentally. Our year is planned with many engaging activities to enhance your child’s knowledge. We will be covering the curriculum in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. These core subjects and units will stimulate your child’s learning process as well as provide a fun atmosphere for learning. 

Some tools we provide to assist with emotional regulation throughout the day are Mountain View Rocks and the Zones of Regulation. The Mountain View Rocks are: be kind, be safe, do your job, take initiative, and persevere. The Zones of Regulation allow each individual student to access the tools they need to help regulate their emotions to ensure they are in a mindset to grow socially and academically. 

This year is sure to be filled with excitement, learning, and many wonderful memories! We are excited to have the opportunity to help build the blocks for your child’s learning.
