Mountain View holds energizing parade for students

Our whole community came together to inspire and provide encouragement for our 3rd through 5th grade students at Mountain View Elementary as they prepared for state testing.
On the first morning of the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), we had a whole school parade where the preschool through 2nd grade students and staff lined our hallways and cheered on our upper grade students. Classes went all-out with pom poms, posters, "smart cookie" signs, smiles, waves, and resounding applause for our test takers. Then, when the students returned to their classrooms, every individual had an encouraging letter from a loved one waiting for them on their desk. Some of our students were so touched they were brought to tears. It was a fantastic way to get our students feeling energized and inspired to do their best work.
