Bighorn Bulletin: Weekly Update

Our teachers reported to the building today, and we have had a productive day getting ready for students. We will spend the week learning together and preparing to launch the school year. This year our district is implementing a new math program (Imagine IM) after 20+ years using the previous program. Imagine IM is grounded in high quality instructional math practices, problem based learning and critical thinking. Our teachers will learn about the program in an all day training on Wednesday and will be ready to teach on August 11th.
Class lists are live in Infinite Campus and you should be able to see who your child’s teacher is. Creating balanced class lists is a thoughtful and collaborative process. Our teachers spend many hours carefully considering each student's academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs to create classrooms that are equitable and supportive for all learners. The goal is to ensure that every classroom has a balanced mix of strengths, needs, and personalities so that all students have the opportunity to thrive. Because every placement affects the balance of the entire grade level, moving one student often requires multiple adjustments across several classrooms. For this reason, we typically do not make class placement changes in the fall. We encourage families to give students time to settle into their new classroom, build relationships, and establish routines. In most cases, concerns that arise at the beginning of the school year are resolved as students become more comfortable in their new learning environment.

- Attention new families! If you did not get the opportunity to join us on 7/30 for new parent bootcamp, here is the New Parent Bootcamp slide deck for your reference.
- All visitors are required to be screened through our RAPTOR visitor management system. Please bring a valid photo ID when you come to meet your child's teacher on August 6 so we can complete the check-in process.

- Payforit has changed to PaySchools
- PaySchools Central
- If you have an existing account in payforit, you can use your login to log in to PaySchools and you will be prompted to add your credit card (which did not transfer with your account) and change your password
- If you do not have a payforit account, you will register. You will need your child’s student ID to register.
