Dear Mountain View Elementary Community,

Welcome to Mountain View Elementary! Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another year, we are excited to partner with you in creating a positive, engaging, and successful learning experience for every child. 

Our Mission: Mountain View is proud to be a safe community who knows our students as individuals and learners. Our environment is intentionally designed to inspire every child to take risks, grow, be challenged and realize their potential.

It is truly an honor to serve as the principal of Mountain View Elementary. I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such talented educators, supportive families, and incredible students. Together, we will continue building a school culture where every child is challenged, encouraged, and celebrated.

Mrs. Spratt’s Bio

I was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, but my family moved away when I was just three months old. During the first eight years of my life, we lived in Wheatland, Wyoming; Montrose, Colorado; and Grand Junction, Colorado before returning to Fort Collins when I was nine. I remained there through high school.

Because of our frequent moves, I attended five different elementary schools and didn't truly experience a sense of belonging until junior high. Those experiences shaped who I am as an educator and leader. They instilled in me a deep commitment to ensuring that every student feels safe, valued, and connected. I believe every child deserves to feel like they belong from the moment they walk through our doors.

I began my college journey at Northeastern Junior College, where I earned an Associate's degree before transferring to the University of Northern Colorado. There, I completed my bachelor's degree in Psychology. A few years later, I returned to earn my elementary teaching license and a master's degree, further preparing me for a career in education.

I began my public education career in 2003 as a paraprofessional in an autism program. After earning my teaching license in 2006, I spent nine wonderful years teaching kindergarten, second grade, and third grade at Berthoud Elementary. As I grew in teacher leadership roles, I discovered a passion for supporting both students and educators on a broader scale. This led me to earn my administrator's license from Colorado State University in 2014.

My first administrative position was as Dean of Students, serving both Niwot and Mead Elementary Schools. That experience prepared me for my role as Assistant Principal, which I began in 2018 at Silver Creek Elementary in Adams 12. Over the next eight years, I had the privilege of serving as an assistant principal at several Adams 12 schools, most recently at Mountain View Elementary. I am honored to have been selected as Mountain View Elementary's principal beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

My husband, James, and I have been married since 2008. He is a Program Manager with Easy Dynamics, where he supports information technology services for the USDA. Together we have two wonderful teenage sons who keep us busy and bring us endless joy. Our oldest, Ben, is passionate about music and theater and plays the trumpet in multiple ensembles. Our youngest, Bob, enjoys painting, sculpting, and writing song lyrics. Our family also includes two rescued dogs, Greta and Tina, who keep life fun and full of energy.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, knitting, working on puzzles, biking, gardening, attending theater productions and movies, and spending quality time with family and friends.
