My name is Kathleen Wagner, and I will be teaching 5th grade this year. I have a broad teaching experience.
I began my career teaching general music to Kindergarten through 6th grade students in Poudre Valley Schools at Werner Elementary. Then I took a break from the classroom to stay at home with our daughters when they were young, and taught private lessons and preschool out of our home. Later I returned to the classroom, first as a sub, and then working with Severe Needs Special Education students. This will be my first year back in the classroom, and I am excited for it to be at Mountain View!
While I have a wide versed background, one thing has remained constant in my philosophy of education. I believe that everyone is a student, and everyone deserves and can reach their full potential, given the chance and proper tools. My job is to help every student in my class to do just that.
Recently I finished my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an Elementary Emphasis from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
A few personal things about me: while I am a native to Colorado, I have also lived in Nebraska and Montana. I love the outdoors… hiking, fly fishing, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking… a little bit of everything! I also love photography, cooking, and reading. My favorite thing in the world is my family: my husband of 15 years, and our two daughters, entering the 4th and 6th grades this year, and of course our dog Lucy.
