I started at Mountain View in September 1994 as a Para Educator in the self contained 1st and 2nd grade classroom. I have also worked in all of the self contained classrooms including the preschool throughout my years at Mountain View. As I worked with the children, I realized I wanted to become an interpreter for the mainstream classrooms. With the encouragement from Dianne Goberis (a dear friend and a teacher of the deaf at Mountain View at the time), I went back to school to get my Authorization: Educational Interpreter as required by the state of Colorado and graduated in 2003 ironically the same year my son graduated from high school. Since then, I have worked in all of the mainstream classes, starting in 1st grade, 2nd grade for two years and 4th grade last year. I am lucky enough to be the float interpreter this year. I am going to see all the students in their classrooms this year! I started working in the BASE program in 1999 and continue to work there. I love the kids and love working with them.
