Welcome to fifth grade! My name is Elaina Cascini and I am one of the fifth grade teachers here at MVE. This is my 14 year teaching at Mountain View and my first year teaching fifth grade. Over my years at MVE, I have worked with students who have a hearing loss in all grade levels, from preschool to fifth grade. I am excited for this change to venture into the world of fifth grade. I look forward to creating a class community which represents diversity in students and learning, encourages empathy and compassion, and is intentionally designed to foster creativity and critical thinking skills.
Other than teaching fifth grade, I am co-coordinator of the Gifted and Talented program, one of the directors of Signing Choir and a coach for Girls Run the World running club. I enjoy the mulitple roles I have at Mountain View. Each role represents an important part of my life. I truly enjoy working with a wide variety of students and their needs. I also love giving students an outlet to become stronger individuals, gain empathy of others, and learn how to socialize and communicate with anyone!
